K2 Group announces an increase in consolidated revenue of more than 50% for the three-month period ended March 31, 2010, compared to the same period in 2009, reporting PLN 12,608 thousand. The EBITDA stood at PLN 541 thousand (compared to minus PLN 228 thousand for the first 3 months of 2009) and net profit totalled PLN 175 thousand (compared with a loss of PLN 499 thousand in the first quarter of 2009).

The results demonstrate a significant improvement due to an upturn in the advertising and online marketing services market as well as the company’s focus on sustainable development and performance efficiency of all business units. The SEM/SEO unit, which is to be transferred from ACR to K2 Search, has noted a particularly fast growth. Also system3.pl (en entity with its own affiliation platform which provides clients and media with possibility to assess campaigns in the form of incentive schemes ) can boast spectacular results, reporting a 600% increase in revenues in the first quarter.

Over the last months K2 Group has received recognition for the quality of its creations (3 awards and prizes in Kreatura and KTR competitions, Young Lions Competition award in the Cyber category for a team of K2 representatives) and inventiveness in using media (the Media Trendy award for an innovative approach of addressing a target group). Moreover, K2 Internet S.A. has been selected by the European Business Awards to be one of 25 Country Representatives and will compete for the main prize. Not only do we continue a successful cooperation with our key clients - the first months of the year have also been successful in terms of winning new projects. We have established cooperation with, for instance, one of the largest financial institutions in Poland, a large manufacturer of household appliances and a leading cosmetics company.

The results reported for the first quarter are consistent with our internal assumptions and prove that sales and profitability estimated for the coming year are realistic. Earlier this year we won a tender to offer services to one of the largest banks in Poland. To our astonishment, on the last day of April it was announced that the tender had been declared invalid. The preparation process had been very expensive and the expected revenue would have had favourable impact on the results of the K2 Group. Although the realisation of the plan has been hindered, we hope that, with our potential, it will be possible to win other clients, comparable in size and budget. - says Janusz Żebrowski, President of K2 Internet S.A.
